Been paid up to 120 EURUSD in several tixs by the one Middle Eastern bank this morning... Not one of the biggest flows, but well in lines with the various bids seen from the region late last week... As they say "the Desert is still buying"...

Sold good amount Cable earlier (150+) without market impact at all... If anything, this is still decently bid right now...

Good morning.

Central Banks are at the center of attention today, in particular the Fed, which is expected to shed more light on its exit strategy at tonight's FOMC. In the meantime, EURUSD is already in the danger zone, a handful of pips above the 1.4500 hurdle, where market rumours claim a large DNT related barrier is lurking. The battle of 1.45 should be hard fought, but I still fancy EURUSD by the week-end, and would try to sell rallies above 1.4550 this morning.

Overall the USD is generally in good demand, with USDJPY seemingly preparing for the next leg up, while AUD or NZD has already accelerated their decent. Cable is holding up nicely, but topside level 1.6310 feels even stronger now, so I would expect to see GBP lower on the day.

In the face of this general USD strength, I find noteworthy that CAD refuses to weaken. Similar observation can be made over a number of the major Emerging currencies. I might want to add CAD to my shortlist of outperformers vs. USD from 2010...

Real money accouns have been seen selling eurgbp this morning. I am still bullish for cable and it is attempting to break up through former resistance around here (1.6155), although until eurusd makes new highs, progress will be slow.

GBP not really sure where we trade the next 200 points in Cable to be honest .... it seems liek a bit of a lottery... what i will say is that since the friday numbers and looking at AUD and KIWI and CAD the USD seems to be once again coming under pressure so for a choice I would be looking to sell USD at the moment so by default look to buy GBP USD...... not a strong conviction though and would rather look to buy the eur dip at 1.4450

Not sure if you've seen this earlier. An official of the asset allocation department of China Intl Corp ( $300 bio Sov Wealth fund):

"Dollar has hit bottom, limited room to fall further", "Yen will continue to fall".

I find it particularly interesting that this gentleman mentions the return of carry trading as the source of further JPY weakness.

NZD- 0.7200 area seems supportive for now. Retail sales number better than expected overnight at 0.8 % vs 0.5%. I’m inclined to sell a clear break on the downside, think rallies will be limited to 0.7275-0.7300.
