EUR sellers emerging a the moment... mostly funds accounts

Aside from Dubai this should be a fairly interesting week. We will get several important data releases this week that could set the tone for markets heading into the final stretch of the year. The global cyclical indicators will be key as usual - in particular ISM, PMIs, Korea exports and our Final November GLI reading. While we still expect improvement in general, the recovery gradient will inevitably become less steep and navigating this shift could pose some challenges for markets. On balance, however, we will be looking to add to pro-cyclical exposure during pull-backs and in places where growth differentiation provides new opportunities.

Both the RBA and ECB meet this week where the focus is not so much on the rate decision, where we expect 25bps and no change respectively, but more on the evolution of the future policy decisions.

Despite all the action and excitement last week, or the massive swings of risk appetite across the market, we start a fresh week with relatively little to chew on, and still entrenched in the same range we been trapped in for the past few months.

On the positive side, the Middle East situation appears (for now) less dramatic than we imagined last week. On the negative side, there was a lot of financial blood on the streets last Friday, and even despite a significant risk rally in the London afternoon, I doubt we'll manage to challenge the top of the range before a while. Both EURUSD and Cable look resolutely toppish at the moment, and I would look to sell rallies above 1.5050 and 1.6550 respectively. USDCHF also offers good value at parity, given the SNB's recent tendency to fight CHF appreciation through intervention.

The Yen looks completely out of place at the moment. At the risk of trying to catch a falling knife, I think long USDJPY or EURJPY make sense at current levels.

PY - lot's of JPY news out overnight, BOJ had a emergency meeting at 05.00 am GMT with a press conference at 08.00 GMT. Speculations that the BOJ could undertake quantitative easing and FX intervention at the same time. They left the overnight target rate unchanged at 0.10 pct which caused a sell off from 87.50 down to 86.83. Usd Jpy and Eur Jpy will stay very volatile today. Lvls to watch 85.85 and 86.45 topside 87.60 and 88.10, eur jpy 129.30 and 130.00 topside 131.30 and 132.45 (200 day mov. ava.) good luck today

gd mng..well a very nervous market in eurusd following a very strong payrolls report friday... w still sit in a 1.4820-1.5145 range, but we are starting to feel the downside is vulnerable. we would be square here looking to trade the break..either buy the break of 1.5145 targeting 1.5280 or sell the break of 1.4820 area targeting 1.4700
